Label Printing
Monday, October 5th, 2009Label printing has made me think about free speech lately. This weekend I was sitting at a red light behind two cars whose owners were expressing their wildly different political views via their bumper stickers. It was a classic example of using custom labels and stickers to express unique thoughts and ideas.
Label printing certainly plays a role in folks expressing their political views, though I wish we could get a bit more creative. Many of the bumper stickers were bashing ‘the other guys’, what idiots they are etc. Yawn. The negativity is a downer. Why not use the same bumper sticker space to proclaim the great things about a certain candidate or party? Being the Pollyanna that I am, I propose we use bumper space to spread a positive message, or at least be funny.
Label printing also tells the history of politics. Just the other day I saw a Mondale-Ferraro bumper sticker. Now that sticker had a great adhesive! I think political bumper stickers offer another great option for expressing thoughts, leanings and ideas. So, here’s to free speech and the role bumper stickers play in making our country great.
