Printing Labels: Artwork Specifications

We like it when our customers get creative when creating artwork for printing their labels. Lexie even has his favorite artwork hanging on his refrigerator. But there are some guidelines we need you to follow so your labels turn out perfectly.

  • Save files at 300 dpi or greater.
  • Take photos using the highest resolution (1,500 to 2,000 pixels) with the compression grade set at superfine.
  • Use CMYK colors.
  • Don’t compress images for emailing or convert them to thumbnails.
  • We prefer EPS or PDF files; however, we can convert from JPG, TIFF, and GIF.
  • Please convert images created in Corel Draw to EPS files.
  • Artwork that has not been flattened provides the best results for printing labels.
  • Embed text into the file or change the fonts to outlines.
  • Use fonts that are at least 5 points in size for the best results.
  • The bleed minimum setting for printing labels is .125”

If you have any questions about these specs, please send us an email at lexie@leapinlizardlabels.com or give us a call at 877-224-0134.
